BruxZir® Solid Zirconia is a full contour monolithic zirconia restoration with no porcelain overlay. More brawn and improving beauty, BruxZir is recommended for patients who are bruxers that have destroyed their natural teeth. Prescribe BruxZir instead of full-gold restorations and metal occlusal PFMs for a more aesthetic restoration.

BruxZir is designed using today's most advanced CAD/CAM technology. Once sintered, the nearly "bulletproof" BruxZir crown is stained and glazed to the finished product.

Preparation Requirements

Shoulder preparation not needed, feather edge is ok. It is a conservative preparation similar to full-cast gold, so any preparation with at least .5 mm of occlusal space is accepted.

Minimum occlusal reduction of .5 mm; 1 mm is ideal.

Adjustment and Polishing

Adjust BruxZir restorations using water and air spray to keep the restoration cool and to avoid micro-fractures with a fine grit diamond. If using air only, use the lightest touch possible when making adjustments. A football shaped bur is the most effective for occlusal and lingual surfaces (on anterior teeth); a tapered bur is the ideal choice for buccal and lingual surfaces.

Polish BruxZir restorations with the porcelain polishing system of your choice.

Cementation Recommendation

After trying in crown, Ivoclean (Ivoclar) is recommended to clean contamination of phosphate from saliva and zirconia oxide.

Recommended primers before cement: Monobond Plus (Ivoclar) or Z-Prime (Bisco).

You can also use Ceramir (Henry Schein) cement without any primer to bond BruxZir Crown.
